The Resiliency Factor Podcast

Feb 24, 2021

In this week’s Resiliency Factor Podcast, I speak with my friend and fellow podcaster, Beth Hewitt. Before leaving her corporate 9-5 job, Beth managed business support programs for local governments spanning over 5000 businesses to grow digitally via mentoring, masterclasses, conferences, and co-working days.

Beth has delivered over 150+ events across the UK for clients such as the Equality’s office, Local Enterprise partnerships, The NHS, and digital enterprise program. Today Beth is the director of Visualise You Ltd; a writer, business coach and host of Visualise You Podcast.

Having worked across multiple sectors and industries, she’s perfectly positioned and focused on helping people to pivot in their careers and how to package their skills and experience. Beth also teaches them how to promote themselves and profit online with a greater sense of self through methods such as creative visualization and journaling.

Key Highlights from Our Episode

  • Beth opens up by telling listeners how she stumbled upon her business after coming out of one of the darkest and most depressing periods of her life.
  • Beth shares how difficult it is to embrace our true selves, especially in a corporate setting where a majority of us are expected to act and carry ourselves in a certain manner. She also adds how frustrating this can be when we have different personalities that we just can’t seem to bring together in our places of work.
  • She tells how powerful it would be if people would just simply express their true selves regardless of the setting they find themselves in unapologetically. She believes this would change the quality of our interactions and enrich all our social gatherings.
  • Beth advises listeners on the importance of slowing things down a little and knowing how to process our different emotions or situations as they happen. Without proper knowledge, facing these trying moments in our lives can often seem to be beyond what we can handle.

Quote

“You know they say that your vibe attracts your tribe... you start then eventually [others just] start to gravitate towards you and then you are on your way… but I would say that was one of the biggest challenges for me.”
